Christie, a single mother and bartender, happens upon one of Garvey’s murder scenes on Christmas Eve. Garvey sees her and realizes his "muse" is finally within reach, beginning a relentless chase.

Christie takes refuge in a large office building guarded by Wade (David Carradine), a somewhat bumbling night watchman. She is joined by two detectives, Stefan Kerchek and Lawrence Kellog, who respond to her call just as a blackout hits, severing their communications.
