This paper presents a geochemical study of volcanic rocks from the Japanese Island Arc. We analyzed the major and trace element compositions of 25 rock samples and discuss their petrogenetic implications. Our results suggest that the volcanic rocks are characterized by a distinct geochemical signature, which reflects the subduction of the Pacific plate beneath the North American plate.
