While pursuing a Titan into a forest, the scouts find the decapitated body of a soldier, Ilse Langnar , hidden inside a tree, with her notebook nearby.

The notebook reveals Ilse's struggle after her squad was wiped out. Lost and without a horse or gear, she attempted to flee north.
